Ofsted Registration
Many parents are now entitled to receive childcare vouchers through their workplace which entitles them to a tax free amount each month, therefore allowing them a substantial saving towards their childcare costs.
Nannies are able to receive such vouchers or electronic payments as part of their salary as long as they are registered on the voluntary part of the Ofsted register.
It is not a legal requirement for a Nanny to be registered, but more and more families do request this now. We thoroughly recommend that you do become registered and if already registered, then well done.
There are several ways to apply for a registration:
You can telephone 0300 123 1231 and request the application forms to join the voluntary register or apply online by visiting:
Ofsted will require you to childcare qualification, a current in date First Aid certificate and as Enhanced DBS/CRB disclosure (they will apply for a DBS/CRB disclosure even if you already have one)
There is a fee payable at time of application. A continual fee is also payable yearly at renewal. You will also have to pay for the price of a new DBS check on the first application only. If a family have requested that you register, then they may be willing to cover the cost.
The registration process can take up to 12 weeks.

All Nannies registering with Pure Nannies will need to have a current Enhanced DBS Certificate. If you do not have a Enhanced DBS Certificate then we can arrange this for you at registration. The cost of an enhanced DBS will be £64.00, which is payable on application.
The Enhanced DBS is a Police check performed by the Home Office to show that the named person is safe and allowed to work with children. The Enhanced DBS will show up any irregularities such as known or previous convictions or whether the named person is banned from working with children.
This is a legal requirement for all people that work with children.
The process from application to when you receive your Enhanced DBS can take up to twelve weeks, however, usually a maximum of four weeks.
Upon registration with Pure Nannies, if you do require an Enhanced DBS disclosure, then you will need to bring with you ID as shown in the attachment via the link below.
